Hello.

This is to let you know that the Transition Talk Training run by the Transition Network will take place in Colchester on Tuesday 9th February 2010.

from the Transition Wiki:

'Transition talk training – this is a one day course in how to give an effective talk on Transition, aimed for people in a Transition Initiative to help them raise awareness and inspire others. It'll cover Peak Oil, Climate Change and the mechanics of Transition, along with the subtler subject of the inner transition. We will also focus on the skills for good and effective public talks.

By the end of the training day, you'll be armed with a solid presentation that you can adopt to your own style, a set of facts and figures to underpin your talk, an understanding of some of the deeper aspects of transition, and a new level of confidence to deliver presentations with flair, authority and maybe a bit of humour too. We delivered the first instance of it in Totnes on 12-Jan-08, and it was extremely well received, and have now delivered this training in many other initiatives and all around the world.'

It is being hosted by Samantha Preston, Climate Change Officer at Colchester Borough Council. The training will be held at Rowan House, Sheepen Rd and cost per participant will be approx £50, full details tbc.

Please can you let Sam know if you are interested in this by emailing her at samantha...@colchester.gov.uk  and she will send you a booking form and full payment information soon after January 4th.

Bookings with deposit will then need to be received by 22nd January.

If there is a high level of interest it may be fairer to limit the spaces p/group so as many groups can benefit as possible.

I'm circulating this now to people I know from fairly local groups and Sam will circulate via the Transition East network, so apols if you get the info more than once.

all the best
