Hello,

Is there a document that provides detailed specifications of TDF
database so that it could be shared with someone who will be exporting
transportation data from their own PostgreSQL DB? I would like to feed
their xml export feed into TDF where the data will be further edited.

I am sure it is not trivial, but I hope that with good TDF data
structure specification I can intent to make sure that the exported
data are as compatible with TDF db as possible.

thanks

karel

My understanding is that the TDF database structure does not follow a literal correspondence to the GTFS.

I believe the developers who participate in this group may be able to provide more information.

Karel,

It's useful for the development community to follow needs and deployment contexts for the TDF.  Would you care to educate us and describe more about where and how you are planning to use the TDF?

Hi Aaron,
could you please contact Cort/Dirk. I have the extended TDF which I
would like to upload as a branch to the project tree and need their
support in it.
Maybe this would help Karel to collaborate ?

Thanks Qlex. Any light you (or anyone) could shed on TDF database
structure would be very helpful.

Aaron, regarding your question on deployment context....

- Buenos Aires metropolitan light trains system (provided by several
companies)
- Format of available data - I don't know yet, but it would still be
very useful to know what format I actually need on TDF end (provided
that it IS possible to import to TDF database in other than gtfs format)
- Plans for implementation - OTP.

Hi Wojciech,

I am not sure that we can branch in the same Google Code project.  We'd need to create a new project at code.google.com like some other forked projects (https://code.google.com/p/ttrss-reader-fork/).  Or, your new code could be offered as a file download on the existing code.google.com page for experimentation now, and if people decide this is a good approach, then commit it as the main branch.

Let me know what approach you think would be best.

Aaron,

Make sure that if new code is committed as the main branch, there will also need to be an update to the User's Guide covering the new or modified functions and requirements. Thanks...
