Hello All,

The Transbay Terminal on 1st and Mission in San Francisco is scheduled
to shut down in February 2010 and move over to their temporary
terminal at Beale (east) and Main (west) and Folsom (south) and Howard
(north) in order to construct the new and modern Transbay Terminal,
which will eventually house California High Speed Rail in 2020! This
is a big deal and will displace a few riders coming from the East bay
and North bay on AC transit and Golden Gate transit. Not to mention
those coming from the peninsula on SamTrans. There will also be a
revitalization/redevelopment at San Jose's Diridon station. The design
phase is still taking place, the historical building will be house
major transportation systems such as ACE Altamont Commuter, Caltrain,
California High Speed Rail (proposed?? unless the Altamont route comes
back), VTA and Amtrak.

Lets talk about getting the word out to the public that the SF
Transbay Terminal is progressing including the payment system
Translink, which is currently being tested on BART and Caltrain.
Translink will be an essential part of the payment system at the
temporary terminal.

I am also interested in informing the public about our important night
owl consortium (MUNI, AC Transit, SAMTRANS and which runs from 1- 4
A.
