Different fares for same route

Hi,

If there is a bus route from point A to point B, operated by diesel buses and electric buses, and the fare of the trip is dependent on the type of the bus, how should the fare rules be represented in the GTFS?

Is the vehicle type (diesel vs electric) known in advance?  Or is it only known at dispatch or in the moment?

There is a scheduled vehicle type but it may be altered due to operational need.
