Looking to work with a programmer for an open data initiative

WRI is looking to hire someone for a data driven initiative to demonstrate the implications of open data sets on accessibility to transport services in the city. Here are a brief set of requirements

- Knowledge of various tools especially open source ones that help to extract and clean data from data sources.
- Knowledge and proficiency in programming to convert data into machine readable open formats 
- Knowledge and proficiency in geo-spatial representation of data and open data standards like GTFS
- Coding knowledge to convert data from one form to another, data cleaning
- Ability to connect data sets together and bring up new insights
- Data analysis, visualization
- Self-directness in exploring data sets with an open mind and creating valuable outputs
- Able to co-ordinate and follow up with institution officials
- Understanding of the potential of high value data sets like transport data
- Knowledge of Malayalam will be an additional benefit

Duration of contract: 2 months

The applicant will have to work closely with WRI and the city of Kochi for this initiative. It would be great if this requirement could be passed on in the network. Interested candidates can write to vishal.r...@wri.org
