Hi, I noticed that the last post is 3 months ago, and I hope there is still someone paying attention to this place...

I am using Microsimulator to generate speed bins file, and I am want to know, how the speeds are mapped to each bins.

For example, I set Microsimulator to generate 10 speed bins. Suppose a vehicle is running at the speed of 3m/s, should it be in speed0 or speed1, or even speed2?

Speed bins are based as cells/second (i.e., 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, …).  The size of a cell is a Microsimulator parameter and represents the space required by a standard vehicle (e.g., car).  This size is typically defined as 6 to 7.5 meters or ~25 feet.  A speed of 3 m/s would typically be simulated as alternating speeds of 0 and 1 every other time step (second).

Wow, what a timely response! Thank you!

Based on your reply, I guess it makes no difference if I generate 6 or 20 bins. Is that right?
