I'm completely new for this kind of software. Before studying it, I would to know if the Population Synthesizer is able to run using files not prepared by the U.S. census, but by census services of other nations (i.e., files with format different from PUMS and SF3).
Thank You.

I don’t think anyone has recently used the TRANSIMS population synthesizer, so you may not have much support.   Have you considered other open-source tools such as PopGen (see http://urbanmodel.asu.edu/popgen.html )?

Hope this helps.

Thank You. Do You know if PopGen, or other softwares, can be used in areas outside the U.S.?

Thank you for this information. I too was planning to use the population synthesizer for non-US data. But just out of curiosity, is the population synthesizer in TRANSIMS still being developed? Would it be possible to use it if I am able to convert my data format to the ones used in TRANSIMS?

Thank you,
Harsha
