I wrote a little patch to allow admins to execute actions when something
happens to their project. Django's signals seemed appropriate for this.

Let me know how this looks and if you find it useful.

I tried to import the bundle but with no luck. Can you please attach a
patch on top of mainline to a ticket?

Sure. I attached the patch to the bug in question (#372).
