We need Team Leads and Co-Leads to help organize and run Transformus 2009. Whether you've helped in the past or are a newcomer to our leadership group, all are welcome to apply, although preference will be given to those with experience.

• Theme Camp Registration
Will begin after Lead and Co-lead positions for the Theme Camp Team have been established and they have had the opportunity to set up their own guidelines for this year’s procedures. Anticipate registration to begin in May, stay tuned for further announcements, and in the meantime start talking in the forums (http://www.transformus.com/forums/theme-camps.html) and get on the Theme Camps Discussion List (http://groups.google.com/group/transformus-theme-camps).
 

• Town Hall Update  - !!gate closing times!!

Don’t forget… A Transformus Town Hall meeting will be held Saturday April 25 at Deerfields

Per John J's request, the weekend of the Town Hall Meeting, the gates into Deerfields will be closed at Sunset on Friday and Saturday evening, which roughly falls around 8:00pm. He also requests campers to camp in the orchard where Bacon Camp was ... to enable him to stage porta potties in the closest area including Main Stage area.
 
He is kewl with peeps parking at the gate on Friday night (dark-thirty) and walking in due to late arrivals via travel, but no walk ins after gate closes on Sat. pm.
 
Ranger/CPR training will be offered earlier that day and we’ll
host a Town Hall at 5 p.m. where everyone gets a chance to speak. Bring
something for the potluck that evening and join your fellow Mysterians
around the fire on Saturday night.

Stay tuned for further updates on the upcoming work/play weekend scheduled for June.


• Tier Two Invites

Tier Two allocation will begin shortly after April 12 to allow for adequate processing of Tier One invites.

Still want an invite….?  Have you registered to the website – there is still plenty off opportunity to get an invite. Remember… not everyone registered wants a ticket (go figure)… and not everyone who gets offered a ticket ends up actually purchasing one (damn economy)… so get registered and get in que……. Once Tier One and Tier Two allotments have taken place and all critical infrastructure tickets have been assigned, all remaining tickets will be allotted starting with the next registrant in line.

Be sure to check the want an invite box!!!

Were you unable, or will you be unable to accept you invite as part of Tier One or Two – do you suddenly now have the time, the money, the desire…. You may have a second chance – after "everyone" registered at transformus.com is offered their fair shot at an invite, remaining tickets will be re-offered, starting once again at the front of the line to those who have not yet recieved an invite….

Hello fellow freaks!

Sinnamon here - I am just giddy because we have received THREE grant applications so far and we’re not even to the deadline yet. That’s awesome!
 
I’m hoping many of you will be spending a few minutes this weekend in between tax preparations to finish up your creativity grant applications and send them on in. (I’m sorry we don’t have sets of Ginzu knives for early entries.)

How many times have you walked thru Mysteria, sat at a meet-n-greet, or was bored at work and said to yourself, “You know what would be a cool thing to see at Transformus?” Well now is your chance to bring that idea to life. Grab a few friends and make it happen. There is a gob of money to distribute – all projects will be considered. Got an idea and don’t know how to materialize it? Write the grants team and we can help you find a fellow burner that can assist you with a particular medium, provide some space for construction, and/or possibly help with drawings or whatever.

It doesn’t have to be some million-dollars-sky-scraping installation. Your gift in the form of bringing a project that interacts with the community has no limits. I’ve seen the smallest piece create a huge impact on folks. I’ve seen large pieces too and they are ALL wonderful. (I know I’m sounding like a Montessori teacher right now, but it’s true.) ALL creativity is welcome.

Don’t think you’re good enough? That’s poppycock! Have you seen pictures from Burning Man? Have you seen pictures from any regional? Projects span the WHOLE spectrum people. We just want you to push your own limits. We just want you to create something and we have money to help you do it. If it makes the community interact and possibly help another out of their creative shell, then I call that a huge success.
 
I can’t wait to see more ideas come in! Make me squeal like a school girl y’all and send us your applications. We’ve had 3 so far and they are all as different as different can be and that is very cool in my book. I WANT MORE, I WANT MORE, I WANT MORE…..I’m such an art whore.
