OK, there's been some rumors and hearsay floating about regarding the
parking situation at Transformus this year. I am here to clarify
this. If
anyone has any specific questions, please email either myself or Kara,
the
Parking Team Lead, and we will try to answer your concerns.

1) Parking is going to be in a satellite lot. Unless you arrive PRIOR
to
Friday morning, you will NOT be allowed to drive your vehicle inside
the
gates of Deerfields. If you arrive Thursday night or earlier, you
will be
allowed to drive your car on site BUT it must be off site by Thursday
night. This change was made because of the terrible traffic tie-ups
that
have ensued at past years' events. If it rains, traffic goes from bad
to
worse.

2) A local bus shuttle service, LaZoom, has been contracted to shuttle
PEOPLE between Deerfields and the Parking lot. The bus stop within
Deerfields will be at the Deer Gates. This is located approximately 1
mile
from the Parking lot, and about .5 mile inside the Owl Gates.

3) Transformus is renting a UHaul truck to shuttle gear between the
Parking
lot and the Deer Gates. NO gear will be transported on the LaZoom
bus, only
people. ALL gear will go in the UHaul. Because of this, a) we have
asked
people to pack securely and efficiently, and b) we will need
volunteers to
Drive the Uhaul AND to help load and unload the Uhaul.

4) You may, if you wish, simply walk from the Parking lot to
Deerfields. As
mentioned above, its about a 1 mile walk. If you have a wheelbarrow,
cart,
or other unmotorized carrying devise, or simply don't have a tonne of
junk
with you (yeah, right!) you could make the trip sans LaZoom/UHaul if
you
feel up to it. Its entirely up to you.

5) Once inside Deerfields at the Deer Gates, you may proceed to your
camp
area, either on foot, or await one of (hopefully many) Mutant Vehicles
that
will be volunteering to shuttle folks and their gear around inside
Deerfields. Mutant Vehicle Drivers: I need volunteers to help with
this
shuttling inside the Deerfields property. MUTANT VEHICLES WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THE OWL GATES. This is why we had to get LaZoom
and the
Uhaul. Again, wheelbarrows and carts and stuff will be very useful in
transporting your crap to where it needs to be.

6) Exodus on Sunday will be the exact opposite of arrival. And don't
forget
to "Pack in, Pack out"!

Once again, this whole effort will be VOLUNTEER dependent. We need
volunteers for loaders, unloaders, UHaul Drivers, Mutant Vehicle
Drivers
(MUST HAVE YOUR OWN MV!), as well as other positions. Parking and DMT
are
coordinating the whole transportation effort, so to volunteer, just go
to
the community page under one of these two teams, find the thing you
want to
do, and sign up!
