Exactly Micro,

It's amazing how quickly people tend to jump to naive and completely wrong fear mongering conclusions like this.  Notice the price of bitcoins hasn't budged.  Just like when the government tried to shut down Napster, gazillions of people were very happy that happened, so they could now jump in the now "black" market and easily get rich.

Let's say all the world governments do make it real hard to convert Bitcoins to any of their fiat currencies.  Already, there is enough usage and acceptance of Bitcoins out there, so that people would still commonly use it to purchase things, and that would include finding some way to convert things into currencies, even if such were still a bit expensive.

It is like in Terminator 2, they smash it and would end with a lot of
tiny exchanges.

Anyway, they have seized the account of Mutum Sigillum (a subsidiary of
Mt.Gox). And it is not a foreclosed conclusion the charges will survive
a trial and Mt.Gox could continue to operate without any problem even
without access to the US customers. If the US authorities will make too
hard or costly to operate a legal exchange servicing the US market, some
illegal service will take its place with ease. It is not a real problem,
for Argentinians, to obtain US$ or Bitcoin. They just ignore and dodge
the law.

1) Mutum Sigillum didn't money transfer at client directions, it just
sent the money to the client account on Mt.Gox and back. Money Transfer,
like Western Union do is about sending money to some other person
somewhere else, not to your account somewhere

2) Mutum Sigillum do not deal or exchange money. They just receive money
from the clients and give money to the clients.

It is not improbable this will become a travesty like the raid of Kim
Dotcom and against the Megaupload servers. More probable that not, some
agent at the DHS think it is easier and less dangerous to target some
peaceful fat French guy in Japan than some real jihadist in the US.

Stopping the trade of bitcoin will be as effective as stopping bittorrent. Even harder.
