Ingredients
5 cups pitted dates
2 1/2 cups water
375 gr butter
2 cups brown sugar
3 cups plain flour
3 cups of oats
3 teaspoons of bi carb soda
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees
Line a baking tin
Chop dates
In a saucepan add water and dates over a medium heat to soften dates
Cream butter and brown sugar
Sift in flour and bicarb soda, mix well
Add rolled oats and stir well
Add most of the mixture to the tin, leaving a small amount for the topping
Press down into tin, add the soften dates, crumble the dough on top
cook for 50 minutes
