Scholarships Available for Fantasia Fair 2010
The Fantasia Fair Planning Committee has announced that there will be
a number of scholarships available for the 36th annual Fantasia Fair
conference, which will take place in historic Provincetown,
Massachusetts from October 17 through October 24, 2010.
"The recent economic downturn has caused financial difficulties for so
many in our community – a community that has long suffered from high
unemployment. Although we have been able to keep Fair prices low, some
people still cannot afford to attend. ” commented the Executive
Director of Fantasia Fair, Miqqi Alicia Gilbert, Ph.D.
Dr. Gilbert continues, "Events such as Fantasia Fair are valuable
educational opportunities that truly do help those who attend. By
offering these scholarships, we are investing in the community."
Scholarships are open to those who demonstrate financial need,
regardless of their gender. Applicants should submit a statement of
financial need and a letter explaining why they want to attend
Fantasia Fair. The Fantasia Fair Planning Committee will select all
scholarship recipients.
