There is no 64-bit version of that utility. Normally, you should do a "reset" of a shuffle as a Restore in iTunes. The Restore button is on the shuffle's Settings screen in iTunes. When you connect the shuffle to your computer, it does not appear in iTunes? Is it recognized by Windows as being connected, even if it is not seen in iTunes?

I assume he/she tried to do a restore in iTunes but was met with an unknown error (in my case it was error 1439) which led he/she to seek out the official solution to the problem... which obviously was not compatible for either of our systems.

I'm not sure if your assumption is correct, since the original poster never came back, and no "error 1439" was mentioned. My assumption is that pointing out the Restore function in iTunes solved the problem. ?

If the shuffle is seen in iTunes and you are able to begin the Restore process, the Reset Utility will not help. The Restore function is iTunes is the "official" way to erase and reset iPods to the default condition. The Reset Utility was released because occasionally, the older shuffles were not recognized by iTunes, even through they were still seen as connected by the computer. Since the shuffle was not seen in iTunes, it was not possible to run a Restore.

Judging by the winky face, I'm not sure how you thought I was being "cheeky" by assuming anything. I only sought to further explain my problem in relation to what the original poster had queried. If I appeared frustrated it was because I am sick of Apple and their craptastic products that are designed to fail after time goes by.

Actually, I got mine to work, but I had to find a macbook to do it. With the mac, I didn't have the 32 bit or 64 bit issue I had with my PC and the reset utility worked and now my shuffle does too. Thank goodness!

The Reset Utility does a "restore" like the Restore function in iTunes. So if you are able to initiate the Restore process in iTunes and it fails, the Reset Utility is likely to fail for the same reason. A 2nd gen shuffle would be about five years old at this point, so it may have a hardware-related problem, if the tips in the "error 1439" article did not help.

If you have an Apple Store nearby, and you want to try running the Reset Utility, Apple tech support at the Genius Bar can probably run it for you. For an iPod shuffle, it does not matter if a Restore is performed on a Mac or Windows PC, because the storage formatting is the same. Trying it on a different computer will also eliminate something unusual about your computer as the cause of the "error 1439" during the Restore attempt. Be sure to take along your original USB docking cable, in case the cause is a faulty docking cable.

When I report energy usage to pay for water and electricity I type in current water/electricity meter value.
I did not fount an ability in HA to create cumulative sensor and calibrate it to have a sensor that matches meter reading.
If Utility Meter component can be set to work constantly without cycles - it would solve this problem.
So please, consider making an option to have Utility Meter counter without resets.

I believe use case is the same as @Oleksii_Zelivianskyi. I have a sensor which keeps track of power consumption in my home. It is a single sensor with total power consumed, and as @tom_l rightfully states, this sensor does not reset.

The utility meter has this functionality on board with the tariffs setting. But as this meter resets cyclically (with the longest period being one year) I cannot use this to keep track of the total power consumed. I also do not see another way to achieve this.

I needed this feature to track my_lifetime production for a 2nd hand inverter connected to my solar panels. The feeding sensor includes the production of the previous owner so with this feature I can track what it produced for me Thank you for providing it!

INKCHIP provides the best software to reset your printer's waste ink pad counters. Just download our utility and with the WIC reset keys you can reset the ink pad counters to zero. It only takes a few seconds to easily reset your printer.

I need to reset the EM7511 cellular module. On older devices there was an ieOC.exe that would reset the module, but I cannot find something similar to perform the reset. Is there some sort of utility that will do this?

Really hoping I can get it to work by resetting it. It seems to have stopped working when I installed a Virtual GPS software to split NMEA data, but instead, it seems to have broken the cellular module to an extent.

My problem is that all of these values reset to 0.000 V when I leave sleep or hibernate. XTU still shows the above offsets, but HWMonitor reports that they are all 0.000 V. I have to toggle between two different profiles to get my values back. The values are set properly after a full restart.

After further experimentation, it appears that these values are too low. I tested this by setting all offsets to -0.005 V, hibernating, then starting back up. This offset value persists after exiting from hibernate, so I guess I will try to find the lowest value that doesn't reset after hibernate.

Thanks for your response. I was reading the voltage offsets from HWMonitor, not from Prime95 nor FurMark. I read them from the Value column under Intel Core i7 Voltages as seen in the screenshot below.

I appreciate your concern about changing the voltage of the processor, but my laptop gets considerably hot during normal use, so I am prepared to experiment to find lower voltage offsets that can be used stably. As I understand, decreasing voltage poses no direct harm to components. I have done this before on previously laptops I owned. I have no desire to increase the operating voltage from the base value.

Thanks for conducting some testing. I am still experimenting with optimal offset values at this time by trying to use them for long periods and increasing the offset if they reset. I don't experience any crashes with my current values (core/cache voltage offset: -0.070 V, graphics / graphics media offset: -0.045 V). Sometimes only the graphics offsets reset, in which case I will only increase values toward zero by a step.

As for getting warranty support, overheating isn't really a problem at the default offsets; nothing crashes or anything. I'm just trying improve the processor performance and energy usage and reduce fan noise by reducing its need to throttle down and increase cooling due to temperature.

Anyway, I realise this could be an IdeaStation post but figured I would ask if anyone had used it and seen it clear the afore-mentioned list instead of having to edit the registry and the problems that can introduce.

I get that the functionality of the MyHome screen has been updated for the 2016 release, but I also know of a bunch of Autodesk users who are still stuck using 2015 - and will be for some time to come.

My point is that rather than have these users rely on Registry editing, couldn't the Inventor Reset Utility have an update applied to it that would these users out since it already edits the registry anyway and doesn't need (potentially) messy batch files etc.

@AlexFielder The Inventor Reset Utility was developed to fully reset your Inventor profile to the out of box settings when you were faced with certain issues. In the past you had to manually delete the registry entries to correct it. That's all this was designed for. The interface was only developed for troubleshooting when users were faced with Inventor not launching, things failed to work, numerous crashes were happening, and etc. For people who troubleshoot like me, this tool is benefical to us.

Is there a way to reset ("forget") all missing fields across the entire workflow? Right now, the only method I know is to manually reset each tool to forget the missing fields. For context, missing fields tend to arise as the result of updating input files upstream.

I have a problem with the ST-Link V2-1 that are embedded on the nucleo boards. I use the ST-Link utility CLI as an external tool in Atollic TrueStudio to program my nucleo boards. However after the programming operation finishes, the CLI cannot reset the MCU. I tried from the command line and the result is the same.

I connect under reset (with hardware reset) to the MCU. The connection to the MCU happens all the time, no problem programming at all. The cli version is 3.5.0.0. I believe I did not have this problem with the previous version of the utility...
