Browserperformance is essential to your success and is core to ours. We continue to deliver on our commitment to make Microsoft Edge faster, leaner, and more efficient than ever before. The following are our latest performance features.

A discarded tab completely discards the page content from memory, allowing all of the resources (CPU, memory) to be released. The downside is that when you go back to that tab, the page content needs to be fully reloaded.

Efficiency mode is designed to help extend battery life. It minimizes power usage by reducing resource usage through modifying background tab activity and some foreground activity, as well as putting inactive background tabs to sleep after 30 minutes or less of inactivity (if Save resources with sleeping tabs is on). Benefits may vary depending on your device, applications, and individual browser habits.

Balanced Savings is the option that we recommend. It helps extend your battery life by saving computer resources. When your device is unplugged, moderate steps are taken to save your battery. You should experience no or minor slowdowns when you browse. When your device reaches low battery, additional steps are taken to save your battery. With these additional steps, you may experience some visible slowdowns when you browse. For example, it may cause videos to be less smooth.

When efficiency mode is on, it puts background tabs to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity when your device is taking moderate steps to save your battery (if Save resources with sleeping tabs is on) and five minutes of inactivity when additional steps are taken to maximize savings. To set the amount of time using the sleeping tabs settings, turn off efficiency mode.

Although efficiency mode has advantages for battery-powered devices, it can also benefit desktop computers. Efficiency mode minimizes browser resource usage so the operating system can focus its resources on other running apps. However, if you enable efficiency mode, you may experience some visible slowdowns when you browse. You can turn this on for desktops from Settings:

The Microsoft Edge efficiency mode is a web browser feature that reduces power usage while you're browsing and is a separate feature from Windows efficiency mode. Turning off Microsoft Edge efficiency mode doesn't turn off Windows efficiency mode.

The efficiency mode you see in the Windows Task Manager status column is a new Windows 11 feature that automatically limits resources used by a single process or process group when high CPU use is detected. This improves device responsiveness for active processes, prolongs battery life, lowers thermal noise, and reduces stress on the CPU by lowering background process priority. Turning off Windows efficiency mode in Task Manager doesn't turn off the Microsoft Edge efficiency mode.

You'll know the Windows Task Manager efficiency mode is turned on if you see a green double leaf icon next to the process in the status column. Efficiency mode may cause instability for certain processes.

In the Name column, right-click (or select and hold) the process, then select Efficiency mode from the menu to turn it off. The green double leaf icon will disappear.

If you've selected a process group, select the right arrow on the left side of the process group name to expand it, right-click (or select and hold) the individual process you want to turn off, then select Efficiency mode from the menu.

A pop-up will display that says Do you want to turn on Efficiency mode for '[Process Name]'? Decide whether to select the Don't ask me again checkbox, then select OK to turn efficiency mode on for that process. A green double leaf icon will appear to the right of the process name.

Selecting Start > Task Manager app > Processes tab, selecting the process name you want to manage, then selecting the Efficiency mode icon located in the top right corner of the Task Manager. If the icon is greyed out, efficiency mode is not available for this process group.

Microsoft Edge proactively takes steps to minimize resource usage when your device is under pressure to keep your device running smoothly. One way Microsoft Edge does this is by putting tabs to sleep when memory pressure is detected on your device. Sometimes the proactive steps that Microsoft Edge takes are not enough to completely resolve the issue. For those instances, we built a feature called the Performance detector.

When Microsoft Edge detects that your background tabs are using too much memory (RAM) and/or processing power (CPU), a heart pulse icon with a red dot will appear in the toolbar to indicate an issue has been identified.

If you select this icon, the Performance detector will say High usage next to Memory and CPU and the gauge will be red to indicate an issue has been detected. Website tabs that are using the most memory and/or CPU will be listed under the gauge.

The important thing is that you pin each ribbon directly at the top of your curtain. You want them hanging evenly. The bottom of each tab is not as important. Just know your rod dimension to know it will fit through your tabs. I created 7 tabs across each panel. Just space them out evenly. Begin with pinning a tab on each end of your panel. Then do the math to space them out so they are even.

Here is the finished product! I am so thrilled with how they turned out. They fall just like my store bought drapes do in our eating area. The only cost to these panels was the fabric. I will show you more of the entire spaces as it comes together.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing, I love your blog which I read from France!

Could you tell me if the drapes slide well with the ribbon? Does this technique work if you open/close them everyday?

Though it seems complex, the two systems work together so seamlessly that it takes about 16 seconds for blood to travel through the body, allowing about five quarts of blood to circulate per minute. When everything is running smoothly, you are considered in good cardiopulmonary health.

Heart failure prevents the heart from pumping enough oxygenated blood to the rest of the body. However, depending on the side that heart fails, it can also cause shortness of blood and strain on the lungs.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) causes the airways in your lungs to become inflamed and thicken, making it harder for oxygen to travel in and out of your lungs. This in turn can cause a rise in blood pressure, known as pulmonary hypertension, which puts stress on the right-side of the heart and can cause it to fail.

There are many other chronic diseases that can cause these two essential organs to fail. Common symptoms that may signal a cardiopulmonary problem include chest pain, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, swollen legs, dizziness and fatigue.

Quit Smoking: Smoking narrows lung passages and makes it more difficult to breathe, therefore delivering less oxygen to your lungs and bloodstream. Over time, smoking can permanently destroy lung tissue and cause chronic diseases like COPD and lung cancer. But as soon as you quit, your body begins to repair itself. Read a list of benefits you will experience.

Exercise Regularly: When you are physically active, your heart and lungs work harder to get extra oxygen to your muscles. So, not only are you making your muscles stronger, but every time you do aerobic or strength training exercises, you are strengthening your lungs and heart. As your physical fitness improves, your body becomes more efficient at getting oxygen into the bloodstream and transporting it.

Eat Healthy: No single food will supply all the nutrients you need so a healthy diet has a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein and healthy fats. The right mix of nutrients in your diet can not only prevent problems but can help strengthen your lungs and heart. For instance, foods that are high in omega-3 fatty acids decrease inflammation in the arteries surrounding your heart, helping it work better. Conversely, foods high in salt can increase your blood pressure and strain your heart and lungs. Nutrition is particularly important to monitor for those with a chronic condition like COPD.

Reduce Stress: Hormones released during stress can have a negative impact on your heart and lungs. This link is shown by symptoms like an increased heartbeat and rapid, shallow breathing. Practicing relaxation techniques and mindful breathing is just one way to train your body to better respond to stressful situations. Get some more helpful tips.

If you want to watch how I organized my important documents binder, check out the video below. Or, keep reading to get valuable step-by-step instructions on how to build your important documents binder from the ground up!

Tabs are simply the best organizing option in this scenario. They keep your documents labeled and make flipping right to the document you need a breeze. When using sheet protectors, extra wide tabs will be your best friend! This is going to ensure that the tabs are still completely visible and functional even with the added width of the sheet protectors. I recommend using the tabs that are a full sheet instead of the little labels that stick onto the document or sheet protector. These tabs are going to sit evenly on the first try and stay nice and pretty without any hassle.

Just to save you some time, I did try to use some sheet protectors with 46 slots. My thought was that they would be a good resource for sliding in smaller items like social security cards or passports. However, with no good way to seal them or close up the tops, it was way too easy for those important documents to get lost in the shuffle.

The next step is labeling your tabs and putting your documents in order. On my own important documents binder, I have a general family tab where I keep any document that applies to more than one person (marriage license, home finances, vehicle information, etc) and then a tab for each family member so their important papers are all in the same location. I just recently added a sixth tab for business.
