Before you begin an import, there are a number of considerations and preparatory steps you may want to make prior to the configuration process. These steps vary depending on the system from which you will be importing, and are described in the system-specific importer notes below.
At the time of writing, all existing importers target XenForo itself, but in time there may be importers that target the XenForo Media Gallery, the XenForo Resource Manager, or even third party add-on products.
While it is entirely possible for importers to fetch data from a remote server, network latency will be a significant factor in these instances, due to the fact that each import step could be running several thousand queries to fetch and import the data.
Before you select and configure an importer, you should read any notes available for the importer you are planning to use, in order to best prepare your XenForo installation to receive the imported data.
I am not aware of any existing functional Xenforo importers at the moment, there is this one for Xenforo 1.5 to Flarum beta 9 -xenforo-to-flarum-import-migration-scripts, though I do not know if it still does the trick or if it's compatible with your Xenforo instance.
Thanks for the replies. I *really* want to install wpForo and replace my xenforo message board. This will save me from using a bridge for logins between my message boards and WP membership system. Great work on wpForo!
Question.. I upload all the invision files to my public_html folder but what do I do with Xenforo files that are already in there? I can't delete the xenforo files yet I'm assuming because I need to do convert no?
