Advances in brain research throw light on addiction, says EU drugs
agency

(24.6.2009, LISBON) How people become addicted to drugs and why they
may find it difficult to stop are issues explored by the EU drugs
agency (EMCDDA) today in new material released ahead of International
day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking (26 June). The
information package, dedicated to emerging research in neurobiology,
examines the social, ethical and policy implications of scientific
developments in this field.

It may be easy to show that changes in brain neurobiology is
correlated to addiction, but not so easy to prove causality.
