There are practical ways to apply trance in order to create, control
or destroy:
1. Fear
2. Frustration
3. Anger

These strong, negative emotions have a common characteristic which is
not readily obvious:
they all result from a limited or restricted choice set. And they are
compulsively that way.
Options are not clear, and maybe there is a lot of denial about what
options there are.
And there are almost certainly mistaken beliefs or delusions about
what the reality is.

These are all characteristics of certain kinds of trance.

So, if you understand how trance works, you can also get control of
these powerful, negative emotions.

Hello Dennis,

nice to hear from you again.

So what would be the very first steps in analysing this emotions and
getting control over them?

The very first step that many will tell you is to breathe.
Why breathe? Because if you take three or more breaths, you have
done something which creates a trance, according to the model.
So that means that you become just a tiny bit dissociated.
And that means your consciousness is split into two parts:
the part which is breathing, and another part which is experiencing
the strong emotion.
So, then, that is the very first step: to do something like breathing
in order to get slightly dissociated. This results in 'you' stepping
away from the strong emotion to a certain extent. By 'something like
breathing' I mean it could also be clapping your hands, playing a
drum, singing something over and over, or meditating. or jogging.
Any of these repetitive actions will result in a slight dissociation
which makes 'you' separate from the strong emotions 'you' are
feeling.

What is not a helpful way to get dissociated from a strong
emotion is to tap into an already or potential addicting trance.
This would be something like drinking, taking a drug, gambling,
religion, etc. Of course, any of these ways will kill the pain of
the strong emotion by making you insensate, but they do very
litle to break the trance which is causing the strong emotions.
