This may be too late, but I had the same issue for some time, I will share my workaround, it is not a permanent fix but it works, you have to use procexp from SysinternalsSuite -us/sysinternals/downloads/you launch procexp.exe, you search form xampp-control.exe and right click> window> Maximize.

3 Under [WindowSettings] are the settings for left and top position, plus width and height. Left and Top are pixel values for the control panel from the top left corner of your screen. If either of these are negative values the control panel will be off screen at default settings

i have the same problem but the solution is quite simple that worked perfectly for me you must have the xampp directory inside the C: drive or wherever your installation location is
1: open up xampp folder from C:2:scroll all the way down you will see xampp-control3:Right click and Pin to start

Since last 5-6 times installation I was able to notice that after xampp control panel new installation it works fine when it's installed but whenever I do a restart of my system, the Xampp control panel installation disappears. It appears it's automatically uninstalled on restart and no icon is shown.

This results in a situation in which there are multiple instances of the XAMPP Control Panel running at any one time, and I have a feeling stopping and starting Apache and MySQL from these multiple control panels is resulting in database corruptions like this one, which occurs every few months.

XAMPP Control Panel is a management tool that offers to supervise the actions of individual components of XAMPP. It controls each component of the text server. The user can initiate or halt discrete modules by operating upon the buttons below the "Actions" column. Control panels efficiently manage all the components of the XAMPP package.

While in XAMPP control panel, you can perform several tasks such as running or stopping the services as Apache, MySQL, etc. By default Apache should start immediately, but in my case it didn't, because my port 80 was blocked.

After configuration, open the XAMP Control Panel. (You can open it manually by running the file XAMPP_HOME/xampp-control.exe or from the Xampp Control Panel icon that is automatically placed on your desktop.) When you open the XAMPP Control Panel, note that the modules that are installed as services are already running.

The Svc checkboxes indicate that a module is installed as a Windows service and will start automatically on system startup. You can install or uninstall Windows services by selecting or unselecting the Svc checkbox. Uninstalling a Windows service does not uninstall the module, but it does require you to start the module manually. The XAMPP control panel includes buttons for stopping and starting modules and opening their administration consoles.

However, I am trying to add an SSL certificate for my cms.techmax.com.tr domain name that I run with apache xampp on a windows device on a remote desktop in another company, but I encounter this error.

I converted pem files to key and crt files. Then I add .crt file to windows as trusted certificate. After this, I set paths of crt and key files in xampp/apache/conf/extra/httpd-ssl and its worked.
Thanks you for your help. @orangepizza @rg305

1. Download the latest version of Apache on apachelounge.com/download/
2. Save zipped file locally, unzip the file
3. Go to the server, stop and uninstall apache service through XAMPP control panel
4. On the downloaded apache folder, copy the libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll, libssl-1_1-x64.dll, and openssl.exe. These can be found in the bin folder
5. Replace files in $location\xampp\apache\bin with the above files
6. Install and start apache service through XAMPP control panel
7. Check if you have the latest version, it can be done by opening XAMPP control panel -> Shell, type command 'openssl' enter, 'version' enter.

Notice there are more interesting options left. For example you can select auto start of any modules you want or you can start it manually from control panel main window. This is a great and useful skill.

XAMPP for Windows does not include Java, which is a pre-requisite for using Apache Tomcat. If you do not already have Java installed, you will see an error similar to the below when you attempt to start Apache Tomcat through the XAMPP control panel.

Hello,
I am a beginner in using WordPress on localhost. Please can you help me and please explain in an easy way (step by step) ?
When I start the MySQL module in the Xampp control panel I get this error:

Next, you need to create a MySQL database for your local WordPress site. To do that, launch phpMyAdmin from your XAMPP control panel by clicking on the Admin button for the MySQL component:

Depending on your security settings, Windows 7 users will probably have a small window open, asking if you want to allow xampp-control.exe to make modifications to your computer. Click Yes to allow Apache or MySQL to start.

If you plan on using XAMPP frequently, you may want to consider installing Apache and MySQL as services on your computer. The advantage to this is that both modules will already be running once the XAMPP control panel opens.

Add driver references to PHP and other configurations through PHP.ini which can be access through the XAMPP control panel. A basic configuration I do is below, just make sure the SQLSRV dll(s) matches the filenames you placed in the ext folder in step 5:

When trying to start the MySQL server through the XAMPP web server control panel, some users have received the error message "Error: MySQL shutdown unexpectedly." The problem may emerge after users reinstall XAMPP on their machine in some situations.
