Sincean unhandled exception occurs during the installation of the program, it can be fixed via reinstalling the software. However, before installing, make sure to download Bluestacks from an official source to avoid such installation errors.

The errors mostly occur when you have an older version of Bluestack already installed on your system. Since most people reported that this issue occurred when they tried to install Bluestack 5 Beta, we should completely remove the previous version to avoid any issues.

Note: Removing all Visual C++ files could cause some other programs to crash. So before removing, please take a note of what you are removing and reinstall them once the installing Bluestacks is completed.

Bluestacks online installer downloads all necessary files required to install the program to a temporary folder in Windows. If your previous installation failed and leftover some files in the temporary folder, this error could happen. In this case, you have to remove those temporary files manually.

Sometimes, this issue could also occur if you have downloaded an older version of Bluestacks from a third-party site. So to avoid such issues, it is always best to get the latest version from the official website. So visit the official site from here and download the latest version and try to install it.

Note: At the time of writing this article, the latest stable version of Bluestacks was version 4. But Bluestacks also offers a beta version (Version 5) for the enthusiasts to test out. So if you are interested in the beta version, then you can try It from here. But keep in mind that the beta version may have some performance and compatibility issues.

i had this issue and tried everything to no avail, so gave up. Today i tried installing bluestacks to play a mobile game, and it had an issue installing due to Hyper V settings (no clue what that is). It had a diagnostic tool which i ran to fix this, and it let me install bluestacks. figured I would try EA again, and it worked straight away after doing the bluestacks diagnostic tool

Hey Hi Howdy, is there an ultimate fix for the EA App not installing on Windows 10 machines after a 2023 update?

The log files for the install show it's not finding an msi package file. Those filesseem to exist in C:\\Windows\Installer, which has permissions to read/write for Trusted Installer, Admin, SYSTEM, and even Package Installer.

@EA_Shepard

I've tried every workaround posted on this forum and elsewhere. EA App stopped working in Feb. 2024. EA App will not install on my Windows 10 machine.

Please check the post previous to this one for a log file showing EA App's failed installation.

Does EA have a solution for it's app suddenly not running on thousands of Windows 10 customer's machines?

@hyllask Right now, the EA app has a few issues that started happening within the last week, so a post from February, wouldn't do much good now as what happened then (even with Windows updates) may not be the case now. Windows 10 alone has made so many changes that it is affecting quite a few programs.

We would need players who are running into this or similar to attach a DxDiag? This way we can see the current system info and go from there. The EA app team works daily on updates, and this thread isn't the same error but the steps for the EA app would be what we would suggest trying as well.

At least you can open a case. I'm trying to post something about this now because I'm running into this on a brand new computer in 2024 which is wild because this means this bug hasn't been fixed. I can't even submit a ticket because two of the required fields to submit are drop down options that are unpopulated.

I'm getting error INST-14-1603. I've tried the things in the 'guide' first post and a lot of the things other people mentioned. None of it works in my case; the EA app won't install. This is so bad that we're still at this stage with software in 2024 - they apparently don't know how to fix this, none of the official ideas work, and there's no help available from EA. (Altho that last one doesn't matter much. Think microsoft help, for example or other tech/media companies. Their help agents are almost always *completely useless* anyway. Unless it's a standard, common issue - but then those might be on their help page somewhere anyway.)

The exact problem is that when the timer goes off on the app (i use bluestacks to run the app on my pc)

it gives an error message that he cant find the path to the external file, like you can see in the picture,

I need to read that file because thats the only file the python code can acces. image822560 24.7 KB

i am almost done thanks to you mainly, the lasst question i should have now is can you make an external file in the appmaker? right now i need to delete the file after i have accessed it but is there a command to basically make the file exist again? since i need it emptied every 5 seconds i was think i delete the file entirely after the sequence and when it starts again i just remake it
