I noticed, whenever I am in foreign country (i.e. DATA ROAMING) I can connect other devices to my android phones via its hotspot, but they (devices) have restricted access to internet..In other words: My phone, where I would like to share internet via operator's data in foreing country roaming DOES have internet access, but devices connected to it via WiFi hot spot do NOT.As soon as I return to home country, the problem disapears and tethering works normally.This I've noticed on 2 Android phones I owned and tried: Nokia 6.1 and Motorola G10.
After a few hours of debugging, reading, and multiple try-error tests with several options in APN settings, I am able to access the internet on my Mac laptop via a Wi-Fi hotspot from my Android phone (OnePlus 8T) while I am roaming.
-This is mostly for OS versions lower than Win10, as Win10 has an easy-to-use hotspot feature in the network and internet settings, funny how few people know that. I have not tried this on Win10 but if there is no gui it could be useful.
-Make sure you have "Sharing" enabled on the network adapter you are turning into a hotspot (Control Panel>network and internet>network and sharing>change adapter settings>right click the adapter>properties>sharing tab) if it is not there, you need admin privileges.
I am developping a hotspot login page that uses FB login. My problem is that when the user clicks the FB login page he should be redirected to the FB page, but at that stage there is internet connexion allowed yet by the hotspot. I assume FB does use some sort of CDN (content delivery network), such that I could not use a simple list of IP addresses. I could put *.facebook.com into the walled garden. This would allow users to connect to facebook - but this will users also allow to use facebook completely without logging into the hotspot at all (what I probably dont want)

Hi, I have my own new JIOFI5 hotspot device and i have recently chanaged my JIOFI admin login user name and password but i forgot my admin password so please help me how to find my login admin password or reset my admin login password??

Fitur yang sering diterapkan dan populer pada jaringan adalah hotspot. Hotspot merupakan salah satu fitur pada mikrotik yang bisa kita gunakan agar client diarahkan ke halaman login atau portal saat ingin terkoneksi ke jaringan. Saat menggunakan fitur ini, terkadang muncul beberapa masalah yang terjadi. Salah satunya adalah Random Mac-Address atau Mac Address Acak.
Berdasarkan kasus di atas, ketika kita menerapkan fitur login hotspot dengan MAC Address atau menerapkan fitur MAC Auth maka tidak bisa berjalan secara efektif. Karena ketika user-A terkoneksi ke SSID Terminal-A atau ke SSID Terminal-B akan menggunakan MAC Address yang berbeda.
Terdapat solusi lain yang bisa digunakan saat menerapkan hotspot, yaitu dengan mengaktifkan Mac-Auth. Dengan mengaktifkan fitur ini, client bisa masuk ke jaringan hotspot dengan menggunakan mac address yang dimiliki. Dalam artian tidak perlu memasukkan username dan password lagi. Mac address pada perangkat akan dijadikan sebagai username dan password untuk terkoneksi ke jaringan hotspot.
Pada bagian Hotspot Profile, kita tambahkan login By Mac dan juga Mac Cookies. Pada parameter Mac Auth mode, kita akan gunakan username dan password. Agar Mac-Address client akan digunakan sebagai username dan password login hotspot.
Jika MAC Auth ini tidak mungkin untuk dilakukan, maka bisa saja menggunakan Hotspot dengan username dan password seperti biasa, karena jika sisi end user berganti-ganti MAC Address maka tidak masalah, karena yang akan di baca oleh sistem hotspot adalah username dari user tersebut.
