Thanks to Brian Weedon for the following tip:

Found this on the Railpage site

https://engage.vic.gov.au/brunswick-depot-upgrade
===

The update includes a new direct connection to Sydney Rd - jsut like in the old cable tram days.

Mal Rowe in a city where it only took 87 years to put the depot connection back to a more sensible location.

The map shows a new tram extension going west along Moreland Rd under and beyond the railway line!

Shades of the phantom extension in Burke Rd, north of Cotham/Whitehorse Rds, a few months ago. Are they stirring us?

Would such an extension serve any purpose? I suspect a draughting error in what is a fairly basic drawing.

Not any longer - see: https://engage.vic.gov.au/brunswick-depot-upgrade

That means that a drafting error is the most likely explanation - and also an indication that Yarra Trams monitors TDU.

My guess is that a most likely change is that the platform stop will be moved around the corner into Cameron St and will be a single sided platform like that at Brunswick St, Moonee Ponds  or Victoria Gardens - but with a platform.

The current plan for platform stops in Moreland Rd - presumable 'Vienna stops' - will send the local traders and VicRoads 'into orbit'.

Mal Rowe - hoping that Yarra's attention encourages list members to be mature

At least they noticed the drafting error, unlike the fool who drew up the 'special survey' south of Bendigo (including my property) in 1862. Not drawn to proper scale, the angles are all over the shop and the adjoining road reserve has a building (on my property) partly sited on the road!

Cheers,
Andrew Cook (not impressed with the rushed 1862 survey here to appease squatter farmers illegally occupying crown land and who no doubt 'acquired' it from First Australians).

Also had a look at Brunswick Depot while I was out on Sat (11-10-25).

Portable offices have appeared in the old staff car park (on the south side of the depot) but not much appears to have been done.

No sign of any platform stop in Moreland Rd or upsized terminus in Cameron St.

I didn't look at the east (Sydney Rd) side of the depot itself - I went around it via the west side.

Hi Alan,
The current work is a complete refurbishment of the office block.
Most of the temporary buildings you saw are replacements while that goes ahead.

Once the offices are complete they will start on the new tracks and Sydney Rd direct access track.
