This must have appeared on TDU at some point in the last 19 years but I am unable to find it.  Apologies if this is old news.

I visited Arden station today and wandered down to the former North Melbourne cable winding house on the SW corner of Queensberry and Abbotsford Sts (next to Rt 57).  The building is still there - it was used for some industrial purpose, but I forget what - then was renovated in 2006 to become Tramhouse, a block of luxury apartments (see plaque).

Just inside the door (facing Abbotsford St) there is a display about the history of Melbourne's cable tram system (NM Cable Tram Display).  I also took photos of this in four sections.  Some parts can be read when magnified but other parts are obscured by glare.

There are also two glass panels with illustrations, but I could not get good photos due to reflection (see NM Cable Tram Glass).
