It’s an unfortunate fact of life in TGTCOTS that not too much time elapses between events that disrupt the smooth running of our street railways.

This morning it was an over height truck that ventured where he shouldn’t have, delaying 4 x Bs and a Z3 in the process. Fortunately no damage to trams and the overhead should be repaired quickly enough but many journeys disrupted.

Stuart Keenan - marveling at how efficiently private road companies can disrupt public transport.

Same thing happened on the Princes Highway, Loftus on Sunday during the Tramway Festival. Overweight truck struck and damaged the overhead. RNP line now out of action for some weeks.  Unfortunately, we don’t have 24/7 emergency crews on hand.

David CRITCHLEY - thinking signs and cameras might be a good investment

Probably an expensive error.

Mal Rowe who wonders if the truck's insurance covers such incidents.

It would be interesting to know who pays in such cases, and in any situation where a vehicle causes delays to trams, aside from normal traffic delays. We know who should pay, but do they?
