Anyone know whether this is a Z1, Z2 or Z3 console?

Bought it years ago, now what do I do with it?

Best wishes,

Malcolm

Z1 or Z2, they were both the same.

Note the new black over plate for the door controls. The Z tram door switches were changed.
The red light at the door switches was to indicate 'door open'.
There is a points switch rather than the earlier points button, so that will date the panel.
I think the colours of the brake release button and the gong button are wrong.
The hole to the right of the PA button was for a plug in microphone, added in the 90s when trams became one person operation.
The bracket to the left of the speedo was to hold a flexible stalk microphone.
The unlabelled switch to the left of the PA switch might have been for a cooling fan on the bulkhead to the top right of the driver.

It's interesting history but I don't know what you would do with it.

Andrew.
