Dave returns to crime-fighting and gains notoriety after saving a man from a gang attack. Calling himself "Kick-Ass", he sets up a Myspace account where he can be contacted for help. Responding to a request from Katie, he confronts a drug dealer, Rasul, who has been harassing her. At Rasul's place, Kick-Ass is quickly overwhelmed by Rasul's thugs. Before they can kill him, two costumed vigilantes, Hit-Girl and her father, Big Daddy, intervene, easily slaughter the thugs and leave with their money. After coming home, Dave realizes he is in over his head and plans to give up crime-fighting. However, Hit-Girl and Big Daddy pay him a visit and encourage him.

In the comics Walter aint portraited as a looser. More like a maniac with lots of combat resources (short of reminds me of krav maga, using anything he has at hand as a weapon), used to combat thugs, criminals and the worst scum he could find. He is an expert at street combat. and if i recall correctly, at boxing.

Hmm well kickass is going down here rorschachs pain threshold is off the charts he walked through antartica with a light trench coat on without feeling any effects also he has more skills honed he knows boxing while kickass was getting beat about by common thugs
Kick-Ass didn't slaughter Red Mist, he fell off the rooftop .During the beginning of the fight he struggled with bringing him down.Even when Kick-Ass got Red Mist on the ground he still couldn't beat him into submission. Kick-Ass lacks strength , he uses batons because his punches are weak. Rorschach has taken on half a dozen guys with his bare hands (some had knives) showing that he is a better fighter than Kick-Ass.

At his headquarters, the Mother Fucker's team examines the shark tank moments before the van arrives; Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl step out and proceed to slaughter every villain in the room. Kick-Ass beats one of the men who had raped Katie, throwing his body into the shark tank before Hit-Girl shoots the glass to release him; she demands to know what the Mother Fucker has planned, and the man admits that they "put the word out to all [their] followers to pull on a mask and do something crazy tonight." When he refuses to give up specifics, Mindy uses pliers to rip out his fingernails.
In Times Square, police patrol the street while the Mother Fucker and Mother Russia look on from a rooftop; she then remoately detonates a bomb in the Lizewski's apartment, which signals the simultaneous bombing of all the comic-stores in the city. Vic Gigante orders the police out of Times Square to deal with the bombings as looting breaks out on 89th Street, but Marcus realizes that the explosions are merely distractions when a horde of masked villains storms the Midtown neighborhood.
