Guys,

I've finally started to put some of that anonymous data we're
collecting to good use.

I present, the heat map:
http://tramhunter.andybotting.com/map

Basically, what you're seeing is a 'heat' indication tile overlayed
over Google Maps. The heat is the location of latest 1000 requests to
Tram Hunter. So, you're essentially seeing where people are using Tram
Hunter.

Don't try to scroll it too far out of the Melbourne area, because it
creates a massive CPU load on the server (plus there's not much to see
outside of Melbourne anyway).

Also, I have some charts, which are still a bit rough.
http://tramhunter.andybotting.com/stats/chart

You should try appending 'week' to the end of the chart url to see the
stats for the last 7 days.
E.g. for device model:

I'm pretty excited to see these stats. I'm also thinking about
graphing most popular stops and maybe even a breakdown of number of
requests per hour.

Any suggestions of what you'd like to see?

-A

Andy,

Good work, interesting to see the different Network States etc, it be
interesting to see them broken down by carrier as well. The Same
would go for Device / Version. I suspect I know the answer but it be
interesting ;)

Also a % would be a great help as well.

Are you going to release 0.6 into the Market??

Hi Greg,

Just dropped v0.6 in the market.

Percentage is a good idea. I'll definitely put that one in. I'm going
to overhaul the charts soon, so I'll look at how I can break them down
by carrier. I also need to include the carrier name, rather reference
them by their number.

I noticed that sometimes the heat map has issues generating some tiles
because I keep hitting my usage limits in Google App Engine. Whoops :)

cheers,

Andy
