Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See -numbers.html for details.
Max Turbo Frequency refers to the maximum single-core processor frequency that can be achieved with Intel Turbo Boost Technology. See www.intel.com/technology/turboboost/ for more information and applicability of this technology.
Comet Lake is Intel's codename for its 10th generation Core processors. They are manufactured using Intel's third 14 nm Skylake process revision, succeeding the Whiskey Lake U-series mobile processor and Coffee Lake desktop processor families. Intel announced low-power mobile Comet Lake-U CPUs on August 21, 2019,[5] H-series mobile CPUs on April 2, 2020,[6] desktop Comet Lake-S CPUs April 30, 2020,[7] and Xeon W-1200 series workstation CPUs on May 13, 2020.[8] Comet Lake processors and Ice Lake 10 nm processors are together branded as the Intel "10th Generation Core" family.[9] Intel officially launched Comet Lake-Refresh CPUs on the same day as 11th Gen Core Rocket Lake launch.[10] The low-power mobile Comet Lake-U Core and Celeron 5205U CPUs were discontinued on July 7, 2021.[11]
On March 16, 2021, Intel announced the refreshed models of Comet Lake Core i3 and Pentium Gold processors. These processors have the same characteristics as their original parts, albeit with a 100MHz higher frequency and the last digit changing from zero to five.[19]
Intel is the most innovative Processor Manufacturer in the history of CPUs for premium processors with high performance. Intel processors are offered in a variety of model families with codenames like Core, Xeon, Pentium, and Celeron in multiple generations like 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and latest 14th Gen. These processors power most of the PCs on the existing market, with specific models engineered for enhanced speed, mobility, creative workflows, gaming performance, business news, big data, and other applications.
14th Gen Intel processors make a significant advancement in computing performance. These Intel processors are designed to provide the ultimate gaming experience. The 14th generation Raptor Lake Refresh processors are intended for enthusiasts who prefer gaming and creating content at the same time. 14th Gen Intel processors continue with the Performance Hybrid Architecture, which provides a smoother system-level experience. The latest 14th Gen Intel processors come with up to 24 cores, 32 threads, and up to 6 GHz peak clock speed to deliver the fastest speed and AI-guided overclocking capabilities.
The 14th Gen Intel processor lineup maintains the LGA 1700 socket design and is compatible with both the Intel 600 and 700 series motherboard chipsets, same as the 13th and 12th Gen. Support for DDR5 XMP speeds goes well beyond 8,000 MT/S with the Intel XTU AI Assist feature. The 14th Gen Intel family offers a 23% upscale in gaming performance in the world of processors. 14th Gen Intel Processors come with advanced connectivity features like Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+), Bluetooth LE Audio, Thunderbolt 4, and support for the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for blazing-fast data transfer speeds. The latest 14th Gen Intel processors are a game changer for PC enthusiasts, content creators, and professionals.
The 13th Gen family is designed with the LGA 1700 socket design, which is used in the earlier 12th Gen CPUs as well. So, these processors work with motherboards simultaneously made of the new 700 series and previous 600 series chipsets. They also feature updated PCIe Gen 5.0 connectivity, M.2 data transfer protocol, and dual-channel memory support for both DDR4 and DDR5. Users can go 5600 MT/s with DDR5 RAM and 4800 MT/s with DDR4 RAM using these chips. These processors truly meet your gaming demands because they provide the best performance per watt, opening the chance for a swift upgrade for boosted game, content creation, applications, and multitasking performance.
The 12 Generation Intel processors were released on 4 November 2021. This CPU was fabricated using the Intel 7 processor. Unlike some previous models, it does not Rehash any of the older technologies. In favor of performance & power efficiency, these CPUs have a whole new Hybrid Architecture. Instead of a fixed number of cores, these CPUs come with two different sets of cores. It also has a thread director that smartly allocates a thread for a task based on various factors. These cores have their own level 1 & 2 caches; with a shared larger Level 3 Cache. The Intel 12th gen Core processors, with their revolutionary hybrid architecture, deliver outstanding performance.

This ten-core 20-thread beast ranks high as one of the fastest gaming processors on the market, which we gave a decent rating in our Intel Core i9-10900 review. All of this comes at a seriously good price.
In releasing its new processors, Intel highlighted 10th gen updates to Intel Iris Plus graphics for better gaming, streaming and creative work. The 10th gen U Series and 10th gen Y Series chips also added built-in intelligence features that can help a PC learn and adapt to how you use it. Battery life was optimized, too, and improved wired and wireless capabilities enabled faster connectivity than earlier Intel CPU generations.
10th gen Intel Core mobile processors are designed for the AI computing of the future, with built-in intelligent performance features to help your laptop learn and adapt to what you do. Automatic photo masking, quick application of video filters, and other capabilities help deliver the kind of experiences PC users have always wanted and, nowadays, demand.
* The table lists the announced specifications of the first 10th gen Intel Core U Series and Y Series mobile processors to be released. Not every 10th gen Intel mobile CPU is available in Lenovo laptop systems. Before buying, consumers should always confirm the stated specifications and performance estimates of any system they consider.
2 As compared to other PC I/O connection technologies including eSATA, USB, and IEEE 1394 Firewire. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software used. Must use a Thunderbolt-enabled device.
For CPU-based rendering within V-Ray, AMD Ryzen 3rd Gen chips match or outpace the new 10th Gen Intel Core processors thanks to having as many or more cores and nearly the same per-core performance. If rendering speed is paramount to you, though, there are even faster options in the form of AMD's Threadripper series or migrating to GPU-accelerated rendering pipelines.
Intel has just launched its next generation of consumer desktop processor: the 10th Gen Intel Core family. Historically, this product line from Intel has offered fantastic clock speeds with moderate core counts, but recently Intel has been steadily increasing the number of cores included in these CPUs. There are quite a number of chips launching today, but to gauge what potential this series have we are going to look at the very top-end Core i9 10900K, Core i7 10700K, and Core i5 10600K models.
