AutoCAD is computer-aided design (CAD) software that is used for precise 2D and 3D drafting, design, and modeling with solids, surfaces, mesh objects, documentation features, and more. It includes features to automate tasks and increase productivity such as comparing drawings, counting, adding objects, and creating tables. It also comes with seven industry-specific toolsets for electrical design, plant design, architecture layout drawings, mechanical design, 3D mapping, adding scanned images, and converting raster images. AutoCAD enables users to create, edit, and annotate drawings via desktop, web, and mobile devices.
AutoCAD LT is powerful 2D CAD software used for precision drafting and documentation. AutoCAD includes all the features of AutoCAD LT, plus additional features to benefit productivity such as 3D modeling and automation of repetitive processes. AutoCAD also lets you customize the user interface with APIs and add-on apps. With AutoCAD, users are able work more efficiently with seven industry-specific toolsets to enhance automation and productivity for tasks in architecture, mechanical design, electrical design, plant design, plumbing, converting raster images, geographic information systems, and 3D mapping.
Autodesk provides download and install instructions for individuals and administrators. Your available downloads appear in Autodesk Account. Find your product, select a version, platform, language, and download method. For more information, visit the Autodesk Knowledge Network.

I cannot locate the app data file on my computer that Autodesk references when upgrading to 2016. Under the options tab and files, it shows a folder where autocad will look for files, but that doesn't exist on my computer hard drive anywhere. Did it fail to load while downloading the rest of the files. I have folders labeled: Fonts, Help, Support, Hatch Paterns, plot styles and colors. My Autocad seems to work fine and all drawings previously in our files come up with the proper layers and hatching. The files themselves just don't match the other 3 stations.
We are trying to link all our stations up the same and my computer is the only one that doesn't have that particular folder in the Autodesk folder inside the program files folder on the c:drive. It doesn't seem to effect the operation of anything but the lead here was just worried it may cause trouble when the system does auto updates.
The command says my folders for my fonts, layers and hatch patterns should be here. Trouble is this file can't be found. I have seperate files for each path located under the support file search path icon in my options. Will not having the above file mess with things when we update throughout the year is what I am trying to learn.
Our lead wanted all screens to match and each folder be the same on every computer. We have a file like the one you mention and is kept in a shared system amongst all users. Your answer tells me what I need to know about the app files. Just wanted to make sure nothing got deleted that was needed.
You are saying appdata folder should not be messed but Autodesk tell you to save your custom linetypes in this folder. I know it exists but it wont show in explorer and I dont have the view options to make it not hidden. what should we be doing leaving alone the appdata folder or saving linetypes in it?
AutoCAD LT is CAD software that is used for precise 2D drafting, design, and documentation. It includes features to automate tasks and increase productivity such as comparing drawings, counting, adding objects, and creating tables. AutoCAD LT enables users to create, edit, and annotate drawings via desktop, web, and mobile devices.
One of the biggest differences between AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT is that AutoCAD LT provides precision 2D drafting and documentation capabilities, while AutoCAD also provides 3D functionalities. AutoCAD LT supports some customization through capabilities like AutoLISP. However, it does not include third party connections, development tools, or the seven specialized toolsets. Compare AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT.
AutoCAD LT can run on Microsoft Windows, Apple, and macOS . See AutoCAD LT system requirements for details.
