Wheelchair Seating for Postural Control and Function Presented by Kelly Waugh, PT, MAPT, ATP August 1-3, 2013 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Hosted at Assistive Technology Partners in Denver A unique, intensive two day course emphasizing client centered assessment and problem solving, with optional third day hands on practicum. In this intensive workshop, participants will learn a comprehensive approach to seating assessment and intervention for individuals with mild to severe postural and/or orthopedic impairment. Day 1 & 2: Principles, Assessment & Intervention First two days include lecture, practicum and an assessment demonstration. Optional Day 3: Seating Assessment Practicum Participants work in small groups to complete a comprehensive seating assessment. Kelly Waugh, PT, MAPT, ATP, is a nationally recognized clinician and educator with over 28 years experience, specializing in the assessment and provision of wheelchair seating and mobility equipment for children and adults with moderate to severe physical challenges. Ms. Waugh is currently a Senior Instructor and the Clinic Coordinator at Assistive Technology Partners, a program in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, School of Medicine. In addition to serving as Clinic Coordinator, Ms. Waugh provides wheelchair seating and mobility technology assessment, fittings and consultations for children and adults with a variety of disabilities.
