Hey all,

I have a friend currently representing an LGBT asylum seeker who could use some help! She is currently detained but if all goes well she will be released soon, but with no money, housing etc. If anyone is aware of resources (or lists of resources!) for housing/assistance/mental health/health services that could help her any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Graham

There is also GLAD that partnered with attorney Hema Sarang-Sieminski on a landmark LGBT asylum case a few years ago. They could call the GLAD hotline for additional resources.

The violence recovery program at Fenway Health could be a good option for mental health services.

CLSACC had an entire mental health program for asylum seekers and have supported their share of trans and queer folks.
Also, a couple of weeks ago I got an email from RIAC http://www.riacboston.org/about/ saying they are taking new clients.
Finally, Pastor Judy in Worcester (part of the LGBT asylum task force) in...@lgbtasylum.org has helped house a number of queer folks (I just heard from one who I met many years ago ❤️). You can get in touch with her through their website but if that doesn't work I can ask for her number.
Finally, BMC has a refugee clinic that can help provide health care.
