I'm just trying out the 3.0 beta. I've seen three problems:
When using the inspector to select individual or ranges of data
points, the selection (black edges on the trail) does not show up on
the map until I force a repaint, e.g. by scrolling the map pane.
After deleting a range of points from the end of a trail (I had left
my GPS running when driving away after skiing), the speed graph
disappeared completely, as did the speed stats from the top right
sidebar.
When trying to get the speed graph to come back, all my imported tails
disappeared completely. I'd started with an empty file and had not
saved it yet.
Seems not :( I'll try to clarify the bugs:
Display selection bug:
Open a GPX track for import, select one of the tracks inside it
Show the track inspector
Scroll to the bottom of the point list and select a few rows
Notice that the selected region is not shown on the track/map display
Scroll the track window
Notice that the selected region *is* shown on the track/map display
(orange track gets a black border)
Disappearing speed graph bug:
Open a GPX file for import, select one of the tracks inside it
Notice that the track appears on the map, and the combined altitude/
time and speed/time graphs are shown
Show the track inspector
Scroll to the bottom of the point list, select the last point and
delete it
Notice that the Speed graph and sidebar info has disappeared. The
altitude/time graph remains
If I now import the track, whenever I show it in the diary the speed
graph is not displayed
Annoyance - when you delete a point from the track inspector, the map
view is completely reset (instead of just redrawing the modified path
without altering zoom), and the track inspector always scroll all the
way to the top (instead of staying where it is, or perhaps selecting
the point above the first one that was deleted). This makes it very
difficult to edit out erroneous points or excess recording.
Other problems:
The speed graph looks pretty, but it's smoothed way too much for it to
be actually useful. For example I have a graph that claims my speed
was constant during two ski runs, 2 lifts and a coffee stop! The
altitude smoothing looks about right though. Ascent's graphs are not
as pretty, but are more accurate.
If I select multiple tracks in the diary, it would be nice to show
totals for ascent, time and distance. If I select more than one track,
it adds a new element to the sidebar saying 'selection', but it only
shows the date of the last track selected!
I have a track selected that says "Speed: 7.48Km/h", but also "Max
speed: 1 km/h", which is obviously wrong!
I have a track that claims a max speed of 752Km/h. It's obviously
wrong, and probably caused by a single stray incorrect point - it
would be good to be able to select the highest speed point.
I can't see how to edit a track after it's been imported - the track
inspector only shows prior to import.
thanks for your excellent feedback. Please find some status updates below.

In TrailRunner > Preferences > Advanced you can set the horizontal interval resolution.

I added you vote to this feature request, will come later.

Hm, that might come from a reading off your device. What are you using and how do you import the data into TrailRunner?

Same may apply here too. If the raw GPS data tells this, then I just display it. I am not using any kind of low pass filter for these values.

You're right. I already have this on my list too and added your vote.
