Hello all,

I have been helping a new fitness startup for the past half year.  They are seeking more athletes to help test their hardware and software platform.  The catch is the user needs to have an iPhone and a compatible Bluetooth HR chest strap.

You must be committed to talking morning HR/HRV measurements and at least for the interim, workout with your phone. I will then forward your info to WHOOP.

Below is a note from Gary Power, who is a part-time new business development person for WHOOP.  Let me know if you are interested and include your preferred contact info.

Thank you,

Chuck

My name is Gary Power and I currently work for a fitness startup targeted at athletes called WHOOP that works out of an office in Fenway. Here is a link to the company page:

I am reaching out to see if there would be any interest in testing our software and hardware products (initially with a chest strap that will be replaced by a bracelet). As a brief overview, our company is working on two main products. We have designed a bracelet that measures heart rate, heart rate variability, skin conductivity, ambient temperature, accelerometery and motion. Most products out there like the jawbone up and the Nike fuelband only measure accelerometery and motion. We are currently in the phase of testing the bracelets with the hope of an end of the year launch.

The second product is a smartphone app and online platform for athletes to compare workouts, recovery and sleep. This is constantly being built out by a number of coders. The main components involve viewing intensity scores which we generate based mainly on heart rate and duration of time, and recovery scores that are determined by your sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and recent strain. Players on the platform would be able to compare workout intensity and recovery with each other and themselves, while coaches would be able to get a sense of how hard each player is working or perhaps which position is doing the most running based on a certain formation (4-2-3-1 vs. 4-4-2 vs. 4-3-3 vs 3-5-2 etc.)

Let me know if there is any interest. I have attached a teaser deck for your information.

Best,

Gary Power
