Summary
Seventeen of us met as a break-out group of the 22X NCPC General Meeting at
the Greek Orthodox Church. Pat briefly summarized the prior meeting of July
7 at Lincoln Court and reviewed the priority decisions made at that meeting:
· Traffic Engineering: Regarding issues at Boston and MacArthur – Sight
lines are poor and traffic doesn’t stop for pedestrians
· Traffic Enforcement: Improve traffic flow on Fruitvale Ave between
MacArthur and Montana. Traffic flow poor due to double parking; issues with
no-parking zones at the banks. Typically during late afternoon commute
times.
Pat will submit the requests to the appropriate department.
Four people volunteered for the radar training class – names were given to
Michael Johnson (from Jean Quan’s office) and he expects to have another
class in ~ 2 months.
Agreement made to meet on August 11, 2008. Location will be Lincoln Court
at 7:00 – 8:00; address is 2400 MacArthur. Agenda will be:
· Discuss and identify criteria to use in setting future priorities of the
group
· Discuss approach this working group will take in identifying future
projects or areas of improvement we’d like to see in 22X – answer the
question of limiting items on our list to specific individual requests or
take a broader perspective to the holistic improvements throughout all of
22X
Two additional items were added to our list of needs:
· Speeding occurs on Leimert, between Monterey and Oakcrest. Want to calm
traffic.
· Re-look at the speeding on Lyman – want engineering assessment not solely
traffic enforcement
· Speeding on Lincoln (both up and down Lincoln) by Damuth.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
