External Driver Behavior Model

Hi,
I am from ITS reseach group in University of Alberta. Currently
working on external driver behavior model and trying to implement it
through VISSIM. However, VISSIM ver 5.20 is reporing some err msg. If
any of you has prior experience with VISSIM 5.20 external driver
bahavior model, your feedback would be much appreciated.

Hi Arun,

 

I have been using the EDM in VISSIM for couple of months, I also had some difficulties with it but at the end my application works. Let me know what kind of error messages you got and I will try to help, though I am not expert.

Dear Arun,
We also had this problem recently and it is now solved. The shipped
version of the driver model DLL no longer works with VISSIM 5.20, but
there is a newer version PTV were able to give us that works. I think
if you ask them they will send it to you.

Thank you Mathew and Mohamed for you reply. Sorry for my late reply. I am getting the attached err msg while trying to run the simulation using the default EDM that comes with VISSIM installation. I would appreciate if you can put some light on this or send me a working version of EDM for VISSIM ver 5.20 - 09.

I did not see this particular error before. Perhaps it would be
possible for you to send me the code, and I can try it with our VISSIM
5.20? However I am away for the next few weeks, so it could take me a
while. It might be faster if you talk directly to PTV.

I also did not see this error before as my application was dealing only with the control of longitudinal movements. Do you control vehicle's lane change? if yes you have to ask PTV about this. If not, try to use functions for lane change as they are in the original EDM code.

thanks for your reply again. I have just recieved a updated version of DriverModel.cpp and DriverModel.h file to compile the new .dll which is working with VISSIM 5.20.09. However, can you help me with an example how to use the DriverModel parameter file from DriverModelData sub directory? Thanks for your feedback again.
