technology trend of resveratrol (Polygonum cuspidatum extract)

first factory started pilot eperiment lies in xi'an city of China.
The technology succeeded spent many person's energy and lots of money.
It also is a representive of usage enzyme in herb extract industry.
Firstly in 2002, many R&D developed extract technology in lab.
However, when they applied this technology rutine in large scale. They
defeated disaster. Tons and Tons raw material was put in extract Tank,
but no resveratrol product was gotten. After long time research, men
made it clear.
Reasons was below:
In polygonum cuspidatum, there are resveratrol and glucoside of
resveratrol（Polydatin ） at the same time. Specially, Polydatin is
about 1.5% concentration in fresh raw material. Resveratrol only is
about 0.5% in it. When time passed, catalyzed by natural enzyme in
polygonum cuspidatum body, Polydatin transfered into more and more
resveratrol.
In 2002, R&D has knew it. Regreful, they underestimated the power of
bio-catalyze. They tried to substitue bio-catalyze in acid hydrolyze.
When they did it in lab. It was perfect. However, when it was applied
in pilot, Acid catalyze couldn't be control in big tank. Even stirred
hurrily, Acid couldn 't avoided to hydrolyze resveratrol with same
time to hydrolyze polydatin. No one can delay and control it. Even men
added acetone to prevent resvertrol.
Lots of resveratrol was destoied by acid.
It really was a defeat throughout.
Later, R&D had to return lab again and threw over old rutine. They
created new technolgy. It is now widely used, enzyme hydrolyze
process technology.
Now, we will talk technology trend.
There are 2 process rutines in manufacture resveratrol.
First is add industrial enzyme in raw material. Transfered all
polydatin to resveratrol. Then extract them according to resveratrol
process.
Second is extract polydatin firstly and then add industrial enzyme in
it to transfer all polydatin to resveratrol.
they also has 2 ways. One is extract by water. Another is extract by
Ethanol.
Because difference in 2 process. there are colour difference in
resveratrol 50% product. Later showed more brown.
It just like red clover also showed colour difference souce from
difference process technology.
Now, the market situation are changing. 50% resveratrol showed
decrease and resveratrol 98% showed increase.
If 98% resveratrol would get big development. Then the second process
will show more predominance. Because the second process get 50%
resveraol product. When we use it to get 98% product. It is more easy
compared with first rutine.
