Dow futures down by 514 points now..
It's -514.00   01/21/08 11:29EST
DJIA INDEX 11,592.00 -514.00

If markets crash overnight today again, I am sure there will be bloodbath when the US markets open tomorrow. Its gonna be ugly.

But, who knows.. Fed may cut rates by 100 basis points overnight and the Bush's stimulus package may save us..

existing home sales data which was released today dropped to a 12 year low........76% probability of a 50bps cut.....25bps is almost sure.....
US markets are no longer "buy at dips"....its "sell on rise" now.....

We are in a recession. I guess Fed cuts wouldn't help much at this point. But, we still need more cuts.

i dont think its a recession....the aftereffects of subprime mortgage crisis are making it look like a recession....major slowdown is only in the housing sector and inturn in banking.....retail sales, job creation are fine ....overall growth might be a little slower this quarter,bu should recover from the next quarter....

The Nonfarm payrolls number is out. We are clearly heading to a recession or already in one now.
