hi guys,

planing to take a stock trading account in usa ...

primary purpose is to accumulate stocks which i like ...
if an oppurtunity arises ... i shud be able to trade as well in futures & options (very rarely .. maybe 1-2 times a yr ... )

i dont intend to do many stock transactions as well .. maybe 1-2 buy/sell in stocks per month ...

am looking for a stock broking account which does not have any yearly fees ...
i dont mind if the transaction fee is a little high compared to others as i wont be doing many transactions ...
I dont care if the broker provides any research info ...

Do you have any recommendations?
Am considering Charles Schwab, E*Trade, Fidelity, TD Ameritrade, Scott Trade and Vanguard.
Before I take the trouble of going to each website and checking fee structure ... wanted to check if you already have done such an analysis .. or based on your exp .. if you recommend something?

Just FYI ... I have my 401K in vanguard

Note: I checked with a colleague .. he highly recommends Zecco
0 yearly fee and 10 transactions free per month .. ust need to maintain $2500 minimum in the account ...
any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dammy

I have used TD Ameritrade, Fidelity, Interactive Brokers, TradeKing, Scottrade so far.. I use TradeKing as my primary trading account.. Its has a good customer support, low transaction fees for both stocks and options (no futures trading available), nice interface, trade execution, immediate buying power when you transfer money from your bank account (even though its cleared later), no minimum balance requirment, no yearly fee.. And I think you need only $2500 for the margin account.. You can sell naked puts if you have over $25K and you can sell naked calls only if you have over $100K.. One downside is that you can trade only from 1pm-2pm EST for After Hours trading.. I hope they will extend it till 5pm EST in the future.. Hope that helps..

Its going ok.. I am not sure if anybody else in this group is still trading.. I am still in the game and not losing a lot of money..

Good luck with Zecco..
