I'm sure they've streamlined things by now but at the time we spent two nights on the South African side at Nthakeni and Awelani ...we entered Kruger at at Pafuri Gate where the customs and immigration officials met us. Documents were stamped and checked and then we drove in convoy down to the river where each vehicle crossed the dry river bed. We were met on the other side by Zim customs and immigration officials who did the necessary....very smooth and easy process. We spent two nights at one of their Mananga camps which also formed part of the requirements to be able to use the crossing.
Once fully operational it will be an absolute dream

Just to avoid confusion, the report from Elizabeth Cox refers to the Temporary Border from SA to Zim for those who have prearranged a crossing with a prerequisite of 2 nights in each of the Kruger and Gonarezhou parks.

I presume Rose is referring to the long established Pafuri border route from Kruger into Moz then into Zim and Gonarezhou via the Chicualacuala / Sango border.

At least it seems we have confirmation that the Limpopo is now low enough to drive through.

But then again, I see now that Elizabeth is referring to "a trial run a few years back already" so not current relevant info.  Contact Dumela Wilderness Safaris as suggested above.

Thanks for the info William!

So just to clarify, if you want to use the ferry, please speak to Lourens at Dumela Wilderness, and preferably stay a night at this very conveniently gem of a camp, as a thank you!

Willie's information refers to the "tourist border post" between SA and Zim, that cuts out the transfer via Mozambique. It seems the first official crossing was 25 June, which is good news, it's been in the pipeline since 2023!

Regards/Groete
