4X4 Car's info

Hi everyone,

I’m an Italian and I’ve been living in Mozambique for 2 weeks.
I would like to know if someone of the community can give me some information regarding a reliable place where to buy in South Africa a used fully equipped 4X4 car with roof top tent, camping equipment and suitable for self driving.
My favorite model is Toyota Hilux.
Any suggestions or information are welcomed.

You can contact Bushlore 4x4 rental, they sell off their older models from time to time, very well equipped and usually in good mechanical order.

Hi Andrea, note that the SA regulations appear to have recently changed and it is no longer possible to buy/register a car as a foreigner in South Africa unless you have a work or student visa. 

We bought a car in Johannesburg in July and  planned on getting a TRN to register it in our names. However proved impossible ( we tried in Gauteng and Pietermaritzburg), so had to register in the name of a close friend.

Hi,

Thanks everybody for the interesting answers. 

Regarding Bushlore I have already contacted the company, but at the moment they only have a few cars available with lots of kilometers, such as 180.000. I was looking for something "newer" because I would like to use the car along the time I will stay in Mozambique, at least 4 years.

Relating to the possibility to buy a car in SA I think I should not have any problem, because I have moved to Mozambique as a diplomatic, and for this reason I can easily provide proof of the status of worker.
