Ituba, North Luangwa

Has anyone stayed there recently and is it worth 2 nights? Or best to use as an overnight stop?

I'll be going into North Luangwa NP park after that, to one of the camps on the amatololo loop.

Just trying to deciide if I should try drive Mfuwe (South Luangwa) to Ituba in one day and have 2 nights at Ituba, or take 2 days to drive (stay at community campsite about half way) and spend 1 night at Ituba

Morning Anne-Marie,

I've never done this route so I was hoping someone else would answer first! But my personal preference would be to push through to North Luangwa and spend the extra day there, along the "new" Amatola Experience.

Hi

 

At the end of 2023 we drove from Mushika/Muzungwe in North Luangwa to South Luangwa (Zikomo) in a day. It was quite a long day, so I would recommend breaking it up somewhere along the way.

 

We didn’t stay at Ituba so I cannot comment on whether it is worthwhile and for how long.
