chobe safari lodge - campsite rates & any tips on other campsites in Kasane?

Hey all,

As i'm making reservations for camping at the Chobe Safari Lodge for May,  they sent me their new rates. It appears to be that you now pay 80USD per person per night, as they now include 1 activity per day. I cannot believe it, we were there in October of last year and then all was still normal. Of course i am not going to pay 160USD to stay camping at the chobe safari lodge.... 

can anybody recommend other lodges where you can camp in Kasane?

Senyati is a lovely place with a great facilities and an amazing hide at the waterhole.

Slightly outside Kasane but you cannot go wrong.

Try Toro Big Lodge in Kasane. 

Camping is great, but the Chalets could be questionable. You will get away there about 30USD for camping.

Ben’s Farm

Has camping and chalets very reasonably priced

$45.00 usd a room en suite

It has a big Lapa on stilts overlooking a waterhole 

You can cook up in the Lapa and keep your good in their freezers and fridges. They will let you have use of a two plate gas cooker.

When I stayed in the room I took my own fridge and small gas cooker.

Camping I think is P100.00 each but I’m not certain

Senyati is a great place to camp...

• Each site has its own ablutions and the elephant hide is terrific.
• Enjoy a gin & tonic from the bar overlooking the water hole
• They have pizza (not great but edible) if you want a night off.
