Trip Planning issues

Hi,

I did some trip planning on my office computer, logged in under my username, saving two different trips with a good number of routes in each trip. But when I signed in to the same account on my home laptop, none of the trips or routes showed up.

I assumed that it didn't matter what computer one uses, as long as we sign into the same account.

Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong?

Please nudge me in the right direction.

Good morning Lev,

That is strange - when you go back to the first computer, are the trips still there, under your profile?

It's probably easiest to list my steps in bullet point.

After nothing showed up on my laptop at home, I logged in at work this evening:

1) Log into account on Tracks4Africa's homepage.
2) Click on Trip Planner
3) Looked like my 2 trips disappeared, but I noticed a Log-In button.
4) I log in again in the Trip Planner page.
5) My Trips tab is empty, so I'm thinking that all my route planning work is gone.
6) Thinking I had nothing to lose, I click on my Favourites (good thing I saved a few of the campsites!)
7) My Favourites ARE THERE!
8) I then click on My Trips again ... and lo and behold, my 2 trips and all the routes are back where they belong.
9) I'm a happy camper.

I get home and turn on my laptop, log into T4A, then Trip Planner, and nothing again. Then I replicate the exact same steps.
Click on Trips, nothing. Click on Favourites, success. Click on Trips again, and they're back.

A little weird but hopefully the routes will not disappear.

Good morning Lev,

Thank you for the feedback and the detailed steps, we've asked our developer to investigate as this should not happen. But I'm glad you got it sorted - looking forward to seeing some more of your trips in your Troopy! 

You can also export those routes and save it as a gpx file on your computer as a backup - avoid the delete button!

Thanks Lizette ... I will try saving my routes without deleting  :)

Btw, as I mentioned, I'm very new to Garmin's GPS (Overlander) which was supplied with our Troopy and has a T4A SD card in it. But it's not showing up as one of the Map options. I've ejected it and reinserted it but to no avail. But it does show up on my Device Storage under the Portable Storage as the SD card and when I click on it, I can see all the folders. So it's there and it hasn't been mistakenly reformatted.

Any ideas? Do you think it got corrupted?

Any chance for me to download a replacement file and load it onto the Overlander?

Sorry for bothering you.

Btw, have you started your new nomadic existence? Or is that still a few months out?

Hello Lizette,

My new SD card will arrive end-of-workday tomorrow so I should be able to start my download that evening, or your Friday morning ... in case I run into any issues.

This overlanding hobby of ours gets complicated rather quickly, but it's all part of the fun, isn't it? Definitely no shortage of challenges.
