Track4Africa Cape to Addo Route

Good morning everyone

I need advice on the Tracks4Africa Cape to Addo route via gravel roads please? Would any of the gravel roads and/or mountain passes (like the Baviaans) on the route NOT be suitable for a vehicle like the Rav4 GX-R AWD (2023 model)?

Hi Marcel 

Normally I would say yes with tyhe proviso that you drive extremely carefully and pick your track path carefully.

Bad news is that the Karoo and Southern Cape have severe flooding about 14 days ago. A lot of roads and low level bridges remain closed and only major thoroughfares have / are being attended to at this stage.

Meiringspoort and the Swartberg Pass were only reopened Thursday last week.

I would suggest that you call one of the farms that offer camping / tourist facilities to get the latest update .. and possibly book a a night's stay with them.
