Good Afternoon

Opinions please. Im looking to travel to Vilanculos during the first week of June and I’m thinking of crossing into Mozambique at Parfuri ( Griyiondo is closed at the moment ).

Is the level of the Limpopo falling and will I be able to drive across or would I need to use the pontoon at Mapai.

I know it’s more than a month away so just opinions please

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

Lourens from Dumela Wilderness is a wealth of information on that region, he will be able to tell you what the river is doing at the moment. Also a good place to spend one or two of your compulsory nights in the park.

Hi Lizette

I have emailed Lourens directly asking his opinion but the more information the better. To the best of my knowledge and in my experience, crossing at Pafuri doesn’t need the same 2 day park stay that Griyiondo needs ( Ive crossed several times over the years )

Mark

Hi Mark,

Indeed, I see Pafuri does not require the compulsory overnight stay!
