On my way from the Ben10 to Cape Town via the Mountain Zebra NP in May I will pass close to the abandoned village of Teebus.
I understand the exit of the Orange-Fish Tunnel lies nearby between the Teebus and Koffiebus Koppies.
Has anyone visited the outlet of the tunnel?
Is it accessible?
I can see on T4A that a road crosses the Teebus River between the Koppies but is this the location of the tunnel end?

On the map about a kilometre from the road crossing the river the thickness of the river doubles which might indicate the place where the tunnel ends and the water from the tunnel dramatically increases the water volume.
Unless there is a path from the road to that place it will be very difficult to get there.
But presumably some maintenance checks are carried out and so the end of the tunnel should be accessible?

The Orange-Fish River Tunnel is an 82.8 km (51.4 miles) long underground aqueduct in South Africa that diverts water from the Gariep Dam to the Fish River valley for irrigation and industrial use.Map Coordinates and Locations
- Start Point (Inlet): Oviston, on the southern bank of the Gariep Dam (Free State/Eastern Cape border).
- Coordinates:
30∘41′26′′𝑆,25∘45′46′′𝐸- End Point (Outlet): Near the small town of Teebus, roughly 23 km southwest of Steynsburg in the Eastern Cape.
- Coordinates:
31∘25′22.5′′𝑆,25∘38′14′′𝐸Public Accessibility
- General Area: The intake tower at Oviston is a known landmark on the Gariep Dam.
- Inside the Tunnel: The tunnel is generally not open to the public.
- Special Access: It is occasionally opened to the public for a few weeks a year during maintenance (usually in mid-winter), when water flow is stopped. During these times, visits are usually managed for guided tours.
- Observation: You can view the outlet canal at Teebus where the water emerges.
The tunnel is considered an engineering marvel and was, at the time of completion, the second longest water supply tunnel in the world.

Hi there
Yes I have, but on official business. The outlet is not open to the public. I am not sure whether an individual can arrange a visit beforehand, but doubt it.
