In Google Maps, click on the 3 dots to the right of the map name, then select export to kml/kmz. Save it on your computer (I usually use kml format).

Open Basecamp, and select "file-import-import into xyz folder" - make sure you select "all supported formats" as the file type. Now import the file downloaded from Google Maps, into Basecamp.

To STOP getting T4A Mail, make sure that you are sending mail from the SAME ADDRESS that you used when you joined the T4A list and then click on this link:
mailto:tracks4afric...@googlegroups.com
If that does NOT work, then please try mailto:mode...@tracks4africa.co.za

God morning,

Lizette, I just sent you a private message asking what Google Maps you are using as mine does not look the same. I then realised that you are working on Google My Maps (https://www.google.com/maps/about/mymaps/). Thanks for your feedback. Using this one does not have to use mapstogpx. Although, if I look on there website now, it does seem as ig they had some issues in December.

Regards.

Hi Danie,

Yes, thanks for the reply, I had to go and figure it out from the start again!

What I did, is to create a new map under the "saved" tab - then I created my waypoints and routes there.

image.png

The steps above will take you to the screen below, click on "create new map"
image.png

You will get an untitled map - change the name to something relevant, and save your poi's in here. Use the search bar and just click on "add to map"

image.png

To create a route, select "add directions" and add your points to the route
image.png

Once done, you can click on the 3 dots next to the map name, and export to KML.

Just keep in mind - these routes are created on Google Maps and travel times will be different than on T4A - so if you export the route from Google Maps to Basecamp, in Basecamp you will want to "recalculate selected route" to get the T4A travel time.
