I know, I know. You just finished your showers and dinner and the last thing you want to do is think about another god-awful run tomorrow. Ah well, cest la vie du... um, distance runner.
Congrats to everyone who braved the banks of the mighty Sacramento River (or was it a lake?). Obstacles were overcome, opponents defeated, men were made and there might have even been an immaculate conception, but nevertheless it was a day for heros. Props to Chris Gurney for finishing in spite of a bum foot and for Galen sticking it out in spite of the heat. Also shouts out to Sean and David for being the only two who were able to stick to 'the plan' and finish well. Also, I think Luke had the most consistent splits out of everyone which is pretty stellar. I think it should be noted that all three of the girls that raced came home with hardware. I'm impressed.
Anyway, nearly getting kicked down by a 48 year old woman has a way of... motivating you. So, for the sake of fitness David is condescending to meet me at the fountain at the moderately early hour of 8:00am to run an easy-ish eight miles. I'm of a mind to head down Claremont and explore some neighborhood roads, maybe try to create a new loop or something. Anyway, nice job everyone. For a quick trip it was quite fun... and I'm still reeling from those biscuits.
best,
