Good Morning,

I ran the easy_install upgrade in order to upgrade trac from version 12.1 to 12.2.  However, apache displays the following error after the upgrade :"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request."  A check in the ssl_error_log yields this message: "PythonHandler trac.web.modpython-frontend: ImportError: No module name trac".  I am not sure how to get trac back to working.  Attempting to restore from the hotcopy backup was not successful.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I re-ran the easy_install with options -U -H None -Z /path/to/directory.  The apache service is working again, but when I bring up the Trac wiki, all of the data is missing.

Your explanation does not seem to match common logic. Once you ran the
Trac upgrade, you should have probably updated some path to trac inside
the frontend, no?. Btw, consider wsgi as a replacement, because
modpython is depreciated. I heard that it is no longer maintained and
has known issues.

Hotcopy is about the Trac environment, not the Trac install. You may
confuse Trac and Trac project data (alias Trac environment) here.

If wiki data has been lost, this is not related the Trac up-/downgrade.
Did you try to run trac-admin <env> upgrade? I should have told you,
that your project data directory is already up-to-date all the time.

I can only explain that the -Z option unzipped the Trac-0.12.2-py2.4.egg directory in /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages directory.  Initially, I did not run the update with the -Z option and a file, with the same name, instead of a directory was placed in usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages.  In addition, there was an auth.py file in /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/Trac-0.12.2-py2.4.egg/trac/web that had to be modified for user access.   Trac is now running with the update for 12.2.  I am looking through trac and subversion to verify that everything is configured and working properly.
