Update on TR4W Improved (working title)

First, the September release will be out in the first week of September. It will have two updates:  Minnesota QSO Party scoring and county line change and 2) California QSO Party scoring change. Plus it will have the usual TRMASTER.DAT update.

I also wanted to give a sneak preview of the new TR4W I am working on. This is an almost total rewrite i have been working on for the last two months. It is written in FreePascal and Lazarus so no more Delphi. That also means it will support cross-platform natively so it will run on WIndows, Mac and Linux GUIs. No WINE or other emulation layers needed. I am not quite there yet but I expect to have it running on Linux first next month and then the Mac.

The language support has been totally rewritten too. It uses the existing translations that have been done over the years. Here is our list of languages:

The other cool thing is no more need to install different code files. One code file will support all languages courtesy of resource files. 

Screens are resizable, the configuration has been changed significantly and it even supports Elecraft K4 and Icom spectrum and waterfall displays (with Flex and Kenwood in the future plans).

I have not removed any features even LPT support is still there. The main window is ne of the last to change so it is resizable. The log is moving to an sqlite3 file with the configuration using json files.

I am targeting a December release so it is after contest season. TR4W (current version) will still have bug fixes added and required features for contest rules changes, etc.
